And Tom Hanks put his winning charm to good use when he crashed a couple’s seaside wedding in Santa Monica over the weekend.
The 65-year-old Oscar winner helped make Diciembre and Tashia Farries’ union even more special when he asked if he could snap a photo with them, according to FOX LA.
Surprise guest: Tom Hanks, 65, helped make Tashia Diciembre Farries’ wedding even more special when he crashed it after the ceremony and snapped some photos with the lovebirds in Santa Monica over the weekend
The lovebirds had assembled their wedding on the beach with friends and family in attendance, but as the ceremony was wrapping up, Tom decided to approach the couple.
‘Everyone is saying, “There’s Tom Hanks!”‘ Tashia recounted in an interview, adding that she and Diciembre were shocked to see the actor.
In video shot on the beach, he seemed particularly tickled to learn that it was a same-sex wedding.
‘Oh get out!’ he shouted. ‘My stock just exploded!’
According to Tashia, Tom had been watching the ceremony from afar and was so moved by it that he decided to approach the couple afterward.

The Forrest Gump star posed for pictures with the newlyweds and their one-year-old son son, who looked cute in a burgundy suit.
Tashia added that Tom gave them some ‘positive words’ and told them to ‘keep the love alive.’
Although Tashia works as a private chef for a number of celebrity clients, even she was left starstruck after running into a superstar like Hanks.
For Diciembre, their surprise guest was the cherry on top of an already perfect day.
‘Our wedding was already a dream to me,’ she said. ‘To finally marry her — this was our day. And everybody we love was there, and… Tom Hanks just walks up! Out of all days, out of all people, he walked on the beach today. It was meant [to be].’

She added that Tom’s celebration of their union also added a small bit of validation to their wedding.
‘For us to be two women — yes it’s 2021, but it’s just unfortunately not accepted everywhere yet. But it’s like he didn’t even see that,’ she said.
Tom’s presence seemed even more like fate when he noticed a photo of Diciembre’s late brother, who died in 2017.
His portrait had been propped up on a chair with the rest of the family.
When they told the star more about her brother, Tom revealed that he shared the same birthday as Diciembre’s brother.
‘So he wasn’t at the wedding, but Tom Hanks coming was his way of saying he was here,’ she said.
