Sarpreet Singh has struck with his third goal in as many games for his German club – and his latest was arguably his best yet.

The All Whites midfielder – a natural left-footer – latched onto a loose ball, drove forward and slammed a sizzling right-footed drive into the top corner of the net.

The Kiwi’s strike gave Jahn Regensburg a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute, but Hansa Rostock struck back to win, 3-2.

John Verbeek equalised for Hansa two minutes before halftime and Hanno Behrens fired them ahead soon after the restart.

Verbeek’s second goal, in the 52nd minute, put the visitors up 3-1, before Charalambos Makridis nabbed a consolation for Regensburg just before fulltime.

It was Singh’s second goal in a week against Hansa Rostock. He was on target in Regensburg’s German Cup second round loss to the eastern German club.

Singh, who now has five goals for Regensburg since joining on loan from Bundesliga premiership champions Bayern Munich, had netted a spectacular strike against Hannover FC before the Hansa fixures.

Despite the defeat, Jahn Regensburg remain in second place in Bundesliga 2, one point behind leaders FC St Pauli, while Hansa moved up to 11th.
