Stranger Things: Eleven Adjusts to California High School Life in Season 4 Trailer

A new teaser trailer for Stranger Things showcases Eleven adjusting to life in California away from Mike and the rest of her friends.

A new teaser for Stranger Things shows that, even with superpowers, high school is still horrible.

The Season 4 trailer was released as part of Stranger Things Day, Netflix’s celebration of the hit sci-fi series. It features Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) narrating a letter she is writing to her boyfriend Mike (Finn Wolfhard), in which she describes her high school experience in sunny California and expresses her excitement to see him during spring break. However, as Eleven declares, “We will have the best spring break ever,” the trailer takes a dark turn to shots of shootouts, explosions and apparent kidnappings.

Aside from Brown and Wolfhard, the teaser provides looks at Winona Ryder’s Joyce Byers, Charlie Heaton’s Jonathan Byers, Noah Schnapp’s Will Byers and Brett Gelman’s Murray Bauman. Missing from the trailer are Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin’s Lucas Sinclair, Sadie Sink’s Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer’s Nancy Wheeler, Joe Keery’s Steve Harrington and David Harbour’s Jim Hopper.

This is reportedly the last of Netflix’s location-based teasers for the series. The first took place in Russia and revealed that Hopper did in fact survive the events of the Season 3 finale. The second showcased the laboratory where Eleven got her powers, teasing that viewers may learn more about the other children that were experimented on. The third introduced the haunted Creel House, which is apparently located in or near Hawkins, Indiana.

Aside from Hopper’s apparent death, Season 3 ended with Billy sacrificing himself to help Eleven and her friends defeat the Mind Flayer. Eleven and the Byers family then move to California to get a new start, while Mike and the others stay behind in Hawkins. Meanwhile, in Russia, the Soviet’s are revealed to be keeping a captive Demogorgon in a prison facility.

Strange Things Day will continue with various images and featurettes throughout the day, including a video revealing the episode titles of Season 4, the first official map of Hawkins, a first look at Netflix’s physical Stranger Things pop-up stores, the launch of a new Stranger Things: Winter Special comic book from Dark Horse Comics and behind-the-scenes feature on how the cast transformed into their new Season 4 looks.

Strange Things Season 4 will premiere on Netflix in 2022.
